The Foundations of Licensure Supervision is a comprehensive 12-hour, NBCC-approved training designed for mental health professionals seeking the Approved Clinical Supervisor designation in the state of Tennessee. This course provides a strong foundation in the knowledge, skills, and ethical responsibilities required to effectively supervise pre-licensed clinicians. Participants will explore the roles and responsibilities of the clinical supervisor, models and methods of supervision, supervisory relationships, evaluation and feedback, legal and ethical considerations, and Tennessee-specific licensure requirements. The training also emphasizes culturally responsive supervision, power and boundaries in supervisory relationships, and strategies to support supervisee development and clinical competence. This course meets the 12-hour supervision training requirement for clinicians applying to become an Approved Clinical Supervisor in Tennessee and is appropriate for LPC-MHSPs, LMFTs, LCSWs, and other eligible mental health professionals.
